Andy Hankins is originally from Yuma, Arizona, and he is the youngest of five children born to a military family. He has great memories of the many cities in which his family has had the privilege to live. His unique experiences taught him to make friends easily and to make the best of sometimes undesirable situations. These skills have come in very handy in his acting career, and make him a welcome addition to the diverse personalities that must come together to create a successful project. When his father retired from the United States Air Force, the family relocated to Aurora, Colorado, and Andy is still pleased to call Colorado "home."
Andy has always had inclinations toward music, and spent most of his school years including concert band, orchestra and choir classes in his areas of study. In 1986, Andy was fortunate to join the Denver-based Rock & Roll Band, The Nacho Men, performing on stage with this group internationally.
The allure of public performance remains strong, and Andy is now pursuing an acting career with the same zeal and commitment. He enjoys success in his new career in the arenas of Film, Television, Voice Over, Print Modeling and Live Theater.
Andy recently garnered the prominent role of Frank Strang in Denver Vintage Theatre's production of "Equus", and he appreciates the opportunity to be included among a very talented veteran cast.
Supporting the efforts of student filmmakers and actors is very important to Andy, and he can be found participating in the production of projects year-round at Denver area film schools and universities, including the prestigious Colorado Film School.
"Working with the individuals on student productions is incredibly rewarding, and I have learned so much from my participation in a diverse selection of projects. Student productions are by far the most valuable hands-on experience I've ever received, and I want to continue this working relationship as long as they will have me!"
Andy continues to study at classes and workshops in the Denver metropolitan area.
